A Cavan TD says the community is "devastated" after a 17-year-old girl was killed in a tractor crash this week. Keely McGivney was a passenger in a tractor when it crashed into a ditch at Middletown Cross in Loughduff on Tuesday.
It's the second farm-related death this month, after a 13-year-old boy was killed while driving a tractor in Co Mayo. Cavan Monaghan Fianna Fail TD, Deputy Brendan Smith says Keely was planning to spend the summer in Cavan.
"Keely was a regular visitor during school holidays and at other times of the year. She was well-known to many in the area," he added.
