Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit recently detected multiple motorists travelling at high speeds on the N3 and N55.
These routes are in 100kmph zones, however Gardai detected one motorist travelling at 153 kmph as well as other high speeds.
Elsewhere, a heavy goods vehicle was also stopped over the last week on the N3 between Cavan and Virginia by Cavan Roads Policing Unit.

According to Gardai, the driver had been holding a mobile phone and texting whilst driving.
Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit are encouraging motorists to slow down, belt up, put the phone away and to never ever drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
