The National Outdoor Recreation Conference was held in Cavan today.
The event that took place at the Slieve Russell Hotel aimed to bring together people from across the country to share ideas, strengthen partnerships and help shape the future of outdoor recreation.
The third annual event was hosted by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.
Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors Ireland's National Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2023-2027, was developed in collaboration with Comhairle na Tuaithe and is a collaborative cross-Government, stakeholder-led strategy.
It reflects the views of stakeholders, the public and the whole of Government and it sets the stage to strengthen and support the sustainable development of the outdoor recreation sector in Ireland for years to come.
The event was addressed by Minister Dara Calleary.
Presentations and Panel Discussion on cross border projects and programmes also took place and an address by Eamon O'Cuiv, Chair of Comhairle na Tuaithe addresed the hundreds in attendance this afternoon.
