Listen Back: Local woman empowers others with practical safety knowledge

An event recently took place in appreciation of the heroic work carried out by locals during a drowning incident at Emy Lough last month.

A Co Tyrone teenager who has since made a full recovery was left in critical condition after he came into in difficulty when swimming at the popular lough in Emyvale.

Carol McGirl from Glaslough who is the managing director of Pro-Training which offers people first aid training in emergency situations hosted the event.

The local woman said this free CPR training event was to acknowledge the heroic actions of local on that day, adding that it's "gold dust" to have such skills.

As Managing Director of ProTraining Courses since 2014, Carol has over a decade of experience specializing in health and safety training, first aid, and mental health first response.

Carol's work focuses on delivering comprehensive training solutions, including first aid response, manual handling, and CPR AED cardiac first response, certified by PHECC.
