Cavan County Council will change the current layout of the crossroads in Cross to a 4-way all-stop from today.
New warning signage and road markings will be installed today to highlight the change.
Motorists are asked to approach the crossroad with caution during the changeover period.
It is hoped the new junction layout will provide safety improvements for vehicles turning at the crossroads.
A local councillor has welcomed that an agreement has been reached in relation to a road safety issue in Cross in East Cavan.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly said we have been left with no choice but to change the current system that's been in place. He believes this road safety measure was needed and it will potentially save people losing their lives at the crossroads.
