The brand-new ALDI store in Monaghan Town will play an important role when it comes to boosting the local economy.
ALDI Ireland confirmed today that it will open its 165th store next week in Co Monaghan.
Fine Gael councillor Alan Johnston described the news as a "huge vote of confidence for Monaghan Town as a retail destination."
This new €14 million store in Monaghan Town is ALDI's second store in Monaghan and will create 30 new permanent jobs when it opens next Thursday (October 16th).
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Johnston said it's great to see the likes of ALDI come to Monaghan Town with a massive investment of €14 million.
He says many businesses across Cavan and Monaghan supply the likes of ALDI so it's great that this new store will be stocking products on their shelves from local companies which will help to retain and grow them also:
