A new bus route has been announced between Cootehill and Virginia.
From Monday, TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan will introduce the new route. The announcement is a part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority.
Route 172 will operate four daily return services between Cootehill and Virginia, Monday to Saturday and three daily return services on Sundays.
An additional morning service will operate Monday to Saturday between Bailieboro and Virginia to arrive into Virginia before 9 am.
The new route will provide peak-time and evening services and will provide connectivity to the villages and areas of Lisnasaran, Drumbrade, Shercock, Lear, Bailieboro, Beagh Glebe and regional bus services.
