The new pitch at Tullacmongan in Cavan is set to open soon.
A recent report issued by Cavan county council stated that the pitch at the Cavan Astro Park in the town had passed all tests and other remedial works were ongoing.
Fianna Fáil's Patricia Walsh said this was very welcome as teams are currently travelling to Clones for training and deserve a place of their own to play.

She also said that it was one of the most used pitches in the county and needed to be opened as a matter of urgency.
There was no official opening date set, however, members were assured that it would be as soon as possible with works also progressing on a smaller pitch at the site.
