Bishop Martin Hayes has announced new clergy appointments for the Diocese of Kilmore which will be effective from September 13th.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Bishop Hayes stated that the 2025 clergy appointments take account of the reduced number of available priests in Kilmore Diocese.
Fr Gerard Comiskey, recently returned from Sabbatical to be Parish Priest of Killinagh- Glangevlin.
Fr Thomas McManus will retire as Parish Priest of Drumkeeran and will remain available for pastoral ministry in the Manorhamilton Deanery.
Fr Paul Casey Parish Priest of Dromahair will also become Administer of Drumkeeran.
Fr Martin Gilcreest Parish Priest of Laragh will also become Administer of Lavey.
Fr Peter Okpetu MSP Parish Priest will begin full-time Hospital Chaplaincy Studies.
Fr Bijo Chacko C.C of Annagh and Urney and Annagelliff will become C.C of Lavey.
Meanwhile, Fr Finbarr Felix MSP is to become C.C Annagh and Drumlane Parishes.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Bishop Hayes said: "Thankfully, we have a strong tradition of lay involvement and of pastoral planning which has enabled the initiation of a Lay Pastoral Ministry Programme in conjunction with the Centre for Mission & Ministries at St Patrick's Pontifical University, Maynooth beginning this September."
