Crocus in Monaghan has purchased a second car to bring cancer patients to their appointments.
The Peer Support Group helps those living with a cancer diagnosis who are at different stages of their journey.
The Department of Transport provided €37,000 in funding to the group to purchase the car.
The car was purchased at Albert Berry Motor's Monaghan yesterday.
Local Cllr. Raymond Aughey, who is a volunteer driver for Crocus, welcomed the news.
He explained that the car will boost Crocus' ability to help patients in the area.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr. Aughey outlined how Crocus helps people in the local area.
Cllr. Aughey said: "As well as transport Crocus provide members with all sorts of therapies, counselling, and chats.
"Just general overviews of how people can get on with struggling with cancer. We provide all sorts of information, just for the general well-being of our members," Cllr. Aughey added.
