A local councillor has welcomed new housing for the Clones area. It was confirmed at this week's sitting of the Ballybay-Clones MD that a new build will go on the Roslea road, on the site of the old school in Clones.
The development which is called Ard na Greine will consist of 24 units and it's hoped this will be on the ground by the first quarter of next year. Cllr Pat Treanor welcomed the news, stating that it is "pivotal" that the local authority works hard to provide housing for local people.
Cllr Treanor also expressed his concerns in relation to housing, stating that the council has become "very reliant" on the private rental sector over the years.
