A new recycling centre has been approved for the village of Mountnugent in Co Cavan.
Councillor Trevor Smith confirmed the news at a recent Cavan County Council meeting, after calls were made by the Mountnugent Tidy Towns group.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Councillor Smith believes the new recycling centre will help encourage people to recycle locally instead of having to travel elsewhere.

He says that despite "some reservations" the new waste facility will be a "tidy" and "discrete" addition to the local village.
