The number of people arrested for burglaries in the Cavan/Monaghan/Louth Division have dropped by over 300% over the past decade.

86 people were arrested in 2024 compared to 234 in 2015. In the 10 years there was a total of 1,429 people arrested for robberies.
The burglary data was released by the Justice Minister Jim O' Callaghan in reply to a parliamentary question from the Meath West TD Peadar Toibin.
The Justice Minister Jim O Callaghan said that Operation Thor actively targets organised crime gangs and repeat offenders through co-ordinated crime prevention and enforcement activity based on intelligence and the latest burglary trends. The data released sets out the number of burglary arrests for each local Division in the years 2015 to the end of 2024.
