During Operation Slowdown a number of drivers were detected committing offences in Cavan. Detections included motorists driving at excess speed, driving without insurance and using a mobile phone whilst driving.
One car was spotted driving at 135km per hour in an 80km between Cavan and Cootehill. Another car was detected on the N3 without insurance and the driver charged to court.
Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued to all other offenders.
