Over the bank holiday weekend Monaghan Roads Policing carried out several checkpoints in the county.
A number of motorists were detected travelling at excessive speeds in the Carrickmacross area.
A drunk driver was also detected on Sunday morning in the county after failing a roadside breath test.

This driver was arrested and now faces Court and a possible disqualification.
The Bank Holiday Road Safety Campaign continued through the long weekend and Gardai in Monaghan have said that Roads Policing Units are committed to making roads safer across the region.
