Revenue figures show that 650 taxpayer units in Cavan have claimed the Rent Tax Credit so far this year.
In Monaghan, 570 claims were made by PAYE taxpayers as of September of this year.
The figures were provided by Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe in response to a parliamentary question from Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú.
Nationally, a total of 80,780 taxpayer units have availed of the credit to date.
It was noted that Revenue advised that the majority of claims are typically made after the year end, which means the final figures for 2025 will not be available until 2026.
Data from self-assessed taxpayers will also come out after their 2026 filing deadline.
The Rent Tax Credit was introduced to ease pressures on renters amid rising housing costs.
All figures have been rounded up to the nearest 10.
