A young boy has died after being struck by a car in Mullingar in County Westmeath.
It happened shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening at the Farranshock Estate.
It's the latest in a series of serious crashes on the roads across the bank holiday weekend. The young boy was treated at the scene at the Farranshock Estate in Mullingar before being taken to Mullingar Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
