A total of 1,793 fixed charge notices were issued to unaccompanied learner drivers in the Louth-Cavan-Monaghan Garda division since 2020.
Data for the past five years was released by the Minister for Justice in response to a parliamentary question.
Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan provided a series of figures, which detailed the number of learner drivers in each Garda division who were given a fixed charge notice for not being accompanied by a qualified motorist since 2020.
In the Louth-Cavan-Monaghan Garda division, 74 learner drivers so far were fined in 2025 for the offence, a decrease of 80% since 2024's figure of 381.
The number increased between 2021 and 2022, from 281 to 372 offences reported.
