There has been 3,647 Seniors Alert Alarms installed in the Northern Sound region between 2021, and the 24th of September 2025.
During that period, 91,402 alarms were installed throughout Ireland.
The figures were provided by the Minister of State for Rural Development, Jerry Buttimer in response to a parliamentary question from Sinn Féin TD Ruairi Ó'Murchú this week.
The Minister of State explained that the scheme was allocated €3.2 million in 2025, but that it is a demand led scheme, and will be kept under continuous review.
Since the scheme was launched in 2015, over 153,000 participants have been approved for the alarms, including over 18,200 in 2024.
Along with the provision of free monitoring for the first year and a revision of the living alone requirements, the scheme introduced a new key feature in the additional option of a digital alarm, for use with web-based connections.
