The Central Statistics Office provided a breakdown of the number of births registered across the country in the first quarter of 2025.
Co. Cavan had the most births in the region, at 222.
While Co. Monaghan recorded 167 births so far this year.
The data revealed the average age of first-time mothers in the region was 32 years, while the overall average was 33.
Nationally, there were 13,665 births registered in Quarter 1, which was 183 fewer than the number of registrations in 2024.
This represents a fall of 20.5% when compared with the 17,183 births registered in the same period in 2015
