Over 400 once-off newborn baby grants have been paid out locally to-date.
The data was revealed in a parliamentary question by Deputy Catherine Ardagh.
As part of Budget 2025, a new-born baby grant of €280 was introduced, which is paid on top of the first month's child benefit.
According to Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary, 433 grants have been paid in Cavan and Monaghan.
253 of these newborn grants have been paid out in Cavan, and 180 in Monaghan.
Since the payment was announced, 16,536 have been paid out nationally.
