There have been 64 burgalries and related offences in Cavan and Monaghan in the third quarter of this year.
The figures are contained in CSO data for the July to August 2024 period.
The Cavan-Monaghan number of theft-related crimes in the Northern Sound region is more than double the figure for the Sligo-Leitrim Garda Division.

A Monaghan garda sergeant said thefts from homes and farmyards were on the rise in the county.
