Over €158,000 has been allocated to sport and community initiatives across Cavan and Monaghan.
It comes under the Dormant Accounts Fund, which uses unclaimed money from accounts in credit institutions to fund community projects.
The fund aims to overcome the barriers and challenges to participation in sport for those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, or those affected by a disability.
In Cavan, €30,000 will be invested in sport hubs, and €29,000 will fund upskilling and training programmes for volunteers.
While €15,500 will go towards Sports Inclusion Disability Projects.
