Projects in Cavan and Monaghan will get just over €3 million to deliver essential water and waste water infrastructure.
Senator Robbie Gallagher said funding of €73.9m has been allocated for 291 projects across the country, under the Multi-annual Rural Water Programme 2024-2026.
The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, today announced a third round of funding under the multi-annual Rural Water Programme 2024-2026.
The funding provides much needed capital investment to improve water services in rural areas.
The funding will be made available primarily to Group Water Schemes to support areas such as water source protection, compliance with water quality standards, leakage reduction and expanding the coverage of piped water supplies from the public.
Senator Gallagher said safe and reliable drinking water is critically important and access to it enhances the quality of life for people living in rural Ireland. The Fianna Fail Senator says the funding for the region is significant.
