Local Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth, has welcomed €655,751 in new funding for Cavan and Monaghan's Local Sports Partnership - or LSP. The funding comes through investment from Sport Ireland across the network of 29 LSPs nationwide.
The objective of the investment is to increase the capacity and stability of the LSP network. Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Smyth said that she was "thrilled" to welcome this funding allocation for Cavan and Monaghan LSPs.
According to Deputy Smyth, the investment "underscores" her party's "commitment" to extend the benefits of sports and physical activity to disadvantaged individuals and those with disabilities. She added that LSPs play a "vital role" in promoting and fostering sports and physical activity at the local level.
