A collection of poetry created via the Art of Life project Pen the Pain was launched today in Virginia Library.
The Art of Life is a shared island project funded through Cavan County Council and Creative Ireland.
It aims to normalise discussions about death and dying to encourage end of life care planning through creativity.
The collection brings together the works of Ann O'Donoghue, Bob Gilbert, Brian McDermott and Helen Keenan.
Over a four week period, Helen Keenan helped those involved create poetry in a non-traditional with the aim of normalising death and making it less scary.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Helen believes that creativity can have a real impact, helping people to process and express emotion, maintain human connection and to make sense of their experiences:
