A planning application for an anaerobic digestion plant in Cootehill will be submitted "imminently."
That's according to the James Manley, Country manager for CycleO in Ireland.
The company is planning to submit an application to Cavan County Council to build a medium-sized agri-centric anaerobic digestion plant.
The plant will produce biogas from organic by-products as such manure, slurry and agri-waste.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr. Manley said that the company is finalising its plans for a submission and it will be submitting an application "imminently".
Mr. Manley explained what safety precautions would be in place around the site.
He said: "To be fair its one of the most monitored sectors out there. We have full monitoring systems on the site, 24 hour monitoring of the site.
"So basically, leak detection, odour abatement, that is all monitored on a constant basis on the plant," Mr. Manley added.
