Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board has submitted a planning application for the development of the GAA field at Connabury/Onomy, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan.
The submission made to Monaghan County Council is to extend the existing GAA pitch to include excavation of in-earth material and to re-use on site to remodel the playing pitch.
The applications also includes adding new goal posts, a new enclosed ball wall playing area, a new generator room, new ball stopping nets, new cowled floodlighting, a new retaining wall and demolition of old ticket box building, and associated site works.

The deadline for submisssions is the 28th October, 2025.
Monaghan County Council said that a decision is due on 18th November.
