A new housing development for Monaghan has been refused planning permission.
Cloncurrin Construction Limited applied to Monaghan County Council to construct an additional seven houses adjacent to existing houses in Tower View Court.
These would be made up of three terraced bungalows and four semi-detached two storey houses.
Permission for the development was refused by county planners.
In its decision, the Council said the houses would block visibility from a nearby junction, and traffic calming measures recommended have not been included in the final plans.
The applicant can appeal the decision to An Coimisiún Pleanála.
