Planning permission is being sought for a substantial expansion at a bus station in Monaghan Town.
Bus Éireann has applied to Monaghan County Council to carry out the works for the project at its headquarters along the town's North Road.
The project would comprise of the construction of a single-storey extension to the existing station, and the reconfiguration of the entire internal layout to improve accessibility and functionality.
In addition, Bus Éireann proposes to replace the station's roof and redevelop its windows layout.
The submission also aims to add four new bus bays and to install a new canopy to provide an additional covered waiting area for customers.
The project also seeks to provide a dedicated guide dog relief area with associated landscaping works, a new car parking layout, designated pedestrian walkways and drop-off area.
County planners have received the application and are due to make a decision by November.
