Plans for the new Stephen's Green Shopping Centre are disrespectful to the iconic landmark.
That's according to Dublin author and journalist Frank McDonald who is the latest public commentator to voice his disapproval of the projected development.
Dublin City Council has granted planning permission for the 100 million euro redevelopment of the centre, drawing criticism from many quarters.
Mr McDonald says the plans sully the image of a national monument:
