A planning application has been made to Cavan County Council for 10-year planning permission for the provision of a Battery Energy Storage System and compound.
Brachio Storage Limited made the application for a site in Drumman and Errigal, Cootehill, Co. Cavan.
The application is for a 1.27 hectare site, to support the adjacent permitted solar farm.
The BESS compound will accommodate self-contained Lithium Ion Phosphate batteries, within 14 BESS Units, and 3 twin skid units, and a single skid unit. A control room is also proposed to the west of the compound.
The proposed development includes for all associated development, boundary treatments, security fencing, site access works, ducting and cabling and all associated ancillary works.
The deadline for submissions is on 2nd November. Cavan County Council are due to make a decision by 23rd November.
