A well-known Monaghan school has applied for a major extension on it's premises.
Inver College in Carrickmacross have applied to Monaghan County Council for a large extension including new classrooms and a new hall.
The application by the CMETB contains permission to construct a new two storey extension including a new Special Education Unit, 4 specialist classrooms, two S.E.T rooms and a General Purpose Hall. The school building, which was built in 1959, is also set to be demolished to accommodate the new extension.
Alteration works to the existing school building to accommodate three new specialist classrooms also form part of the application. Also included are 60 new bicycle spaces, 30 of which will be covered, and a new car parking layout consisting of 53 car spaces, 4 of which will be
disabled bays, as well as vehicle and SEN set down areas.
Finally, 35 solar panels above the one storey extension's roof are set to be installed with any excess energy sold back to the grid. A decision on the application is due towards the start of the new year.
