Aontú Senator Sarah O' Reilly has given a guarded welcome to the news that a potential new investor has been identified for Wellman International in Mullagh.
With the company employing 215 people and recent announcements that over 50 roles are to go, Senator O'Reilly said that she would like to see solid evidence that remaining employees will be retained .
Senator O'Reilly says she hopes that any redundancy packages offered to the workers will reflect their hard work and dedication over the years.
She says before any sale or restructuring goes ahead, she would like to some cast iron guarantees that the jobs of the current employees will be secure.
The Cavan representative says .the livelihoods of these workers and the well-being of their families must be central to any decisions made.
