Clones Gardai will be at Scotshouse community centre today, Monday between 12pm and 3pm for a Property Marking event. Any item with a flat surface can be marked, big or small; those attending just need their Eircode.
Given the increase in thefts in the area, Gardai are encouraging farmers and business owners to participate in the event. They say marking property reduces the risk of theft and also helps to identify owners of property that is stolen.
Gardai added that the effort acts as a "deterrent" to criminals.
