A property market event will take place in Canningstown today and tomorrow. The operation will be conducted by members of the community engagement Unit in Bailieboro.
According to local Gardai, proceedings take place today between 12 and 3pm, and at the same time on Saturday. In a statement, Gardai encouraged people to get their property marked as part of a concerted effort to reduce the risk of theft.
According to Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Mick Duffy, marking property also increases the chances of recovery, if stolen, and can act as a "deterrent" to criminals.
