A peaceful protest is planned in Carrickmacross this evening at 7pm.
Organisers says the protest is in response to an increase in criminal activity in the area. They are calling on local representatives and Gardai to take a stance and hear their concerns at the peaceful assembly.
The Carrickamcross Community watch group say they are having a peaceful assembly in Cloughvalley Park in the town.
The group say they are inundated with messages from concerned people on a daily basis. The group is appealing to local td's and councillors along with the Gardai to do something to help the situation and make Carrickmacross a safer place.
Local man Gary Carvile says he along with others in the area are very concerned.
