A public protest over safety concerns at Whitegate Cross outside Virginia is set to take place this Friday.
Independent Councillor Shane P O'Reilly has organised what he described as peaceful and safe protest to highlight people’s concerns in relation to the dangerous junction along the N3.
Cllr O'Reilly raised a motion at the most recent meeting of Ballyjamesduff Municipal District over this issue and described the current situation at Whitegate as “chronic”.

He said that that safety concerns had been flagged going back almost a decade.
The Mullagh native continued by saying only for the grace of God there had not been a fatality there in many years and he said ‘enough was enough’.
The protest will take place from 4.30 on Friday afternoon.
