Police in Co Armagh recently responded to a 999 call from an elderly lady who heard a noise in her home on the Drumahean Road area of Middletown.
According to police, due to her quick thinking to call 999, officers promptly arrived at the scene. On arrival, officers were able to detain and arrest one male on suspicion of burglary.
He remains in custody at this time in relation to the offence. Police described the attempted burglary as a "cruel crime." Members of the Armagh Local Policing Team added that it is their "top priority" to protect the vulnerable.
