Sinn Féin are holding a public meeting next week in Co Cavan in defence of Irish neutrality.
Sinn Féin spokesperson on Finance, Deputy Pearse Doherty along with local Sinn Féin TD's and councillors will be in attendance.
Party chairperson for Cavan, Michael Bricker wall says the Triple lock is an essential safeguard for how the Irish defence forces and personnel are deployed overseas.
He says the Irish are welcome the world over due to this stance. Bricker is also a former defence forces member, he says any changes to the triple lock should be democratic and it should br put to the people in a vote.
The public meeting will be held next Wednesday the 23rd of July at 7.30pm at the Errigal Country House Hotel in Cootehill. The Sinn Féin Cavan chair highlighted the importance of the public meeting.
