A local councillor is reminding people that the Local Improvement Scheme is closing this week for applications.
Cllr Raymond Aughey says the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) is an opportunity for communities to have road repair work carried out at relatively modest cost on roads not in the charge by the council. .
Funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development can be provided to the council once the application is approved.
Local communities can request that improvement works are carried out by completing the application form that can be found on Monaghan County Council website.
Cllr Aughey says the funding approval can allow for great improvements for residents on laneways.
He's reminding people that the closing date for applications is this Friday.
