A Cavan senator believes removing the triple lock system would be disastrous for Irish neutrality.
Earlier this week, the Dáil passed draft legislation to change the rules that govern the deployment of Irish troops. Currently, their deployment requires the approval of the UN Security Council, the Government and the Dáil. The new legislation would remove the requirement for UN approval.
