In Monaghan, market rents were on average 7.6% higher in the final three months of 2024 than a year previously, while in Cavan the increase was 6.3%.
The average rent in Cavan at the end of last year was €1,375 and in Monaghan the figure was €1,299 per month.

Nationally, market rents rose by an average of 5.7% last year, with the average open-market rent nationwide in the final quarter of the 2024 at €1,956 per month,
