Rents on the rise across Cavan and Monaghan

Market rents in Cavan and Monaghan have increased compared to the same period last year.

The cost of rent has increased across the Northern Sound region.

The Latest Daft.ie Rental Report revealed that market rents in Co Monaghan were on average 5.1% higher in the second quarter of 2025 than a year previously.

The average listed rent is now €1360, up 73% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred.

While in Co Cavan market rents were on average 4.9% higher in the second quarter of 2025 than a year previously.

The average listed rent is now €1437, up 91% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred.

Dublin is still the most expensive place to rent at over €2,500 a month.

Author of the Daft and economist Ronan Lyons says there isn't any pipeline of rental housing coming on stream.
