Data centres could add over 600 euro to the average household energy bill over the next decade.
A report from Friends of the Earth and Beyond Fossil Fuels found the rapid expansion of the centres across the country, has already cost householders 715 million euro extra on bills between 2015 and 2023.
Data Centres consume 22 per cent of all electricity use here.
The report suggests the cost to Irish consumers on their energy bills could soar to 1.6 billion, unless there is a change in government policy.
