Cavan saw one of the highest growth rates of rent for existing tenancies in the last quarter of 2024.
That's according to the most recent quarterly update from the Residential Tenancies Board.
The highest growth rates were seen in Cavan, at an increase of 10.8% in rent compared to the third quarter of 2024.

Meanwhile new tenancies in Cavan saw the lowest rise in the cost of rent, at 1.5% in comparison with the previous period. 1,064 private tenancies were recorded in Monaghan at the end of March 2025, among the lowest numbers noted in the country.
At the end of Quarter 1 of 2025, landlords with one tenancy accounted for 66% of all private landlords and 25% of all tenancies nationally.
