Gardai in Co Cavan are advising motorists to avoid a current road closure near Ballyconnell.
The road is closed to facilitate essential pavement repair works however Gardai say heavy congestion is becoming a major issue due to poor signage.
Gardai are advising all motorists, particularly those driving HGVs to avoid the national secondary road N87 between the Townlands of Greaghrahan and Ballyhugh.
Motorists are also advised to take heed of the road traffic diversions in place.
Traffic travelling west from the N3 Belturbet Roundabout onto the N87 Ballyconnell will be diverted via the N3 to Derrylin and diverted onto the Ballyconnell Road.
Traffic travelling eastbound from Ballyconnell Main Street on the N87 will be diverted onto the Ballyconnell Road to Derrylin and diverted onto the N3 to the Belturbet Roundabout.
