Robbie Gallagher has been re-elected to the Seanad this evening for another five years.
The Donegal man and long time Monaghan resident received over 115,000 first preference votes in the labour panel of the Seanad tonight.
The quota was just over 95,000 and he was the first to be elected on the first count.
The Fianna Fáil representative had ran in the most resent general election but was unsuccessful.
He says he’s delighted with his poll-topping performance.
