Locals are gearing up to put their best foot forward today in aid of SOSAD services in Monaghan.
A 5K walk/run event will take place this evening at 7:30pm in Rossmore Park.
This is the second year of this annual event which was organised by local woman Mary Lamb in memory of her nephew Ben, who was only 34 years of age when he lost his life to suicide.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mary praised the work carried out by SOSAD Monaghan for the support that the local service has provided to not only her own family but many others.
Mary has encouraged locals from Monaghan and further afield to attend this evening's event which is in aid of an important cause that is close to her heart.
She says local SOSAD services need support now more than ever before to "keep the lights on" and it's important for people to get outside for their mental health:
