The accessibility facility and sensory room at Kingspan Breffni stadium has won an international award.
The home of Cavan GAA was nominated in the Community Project Award category at The Stadium Business Design and Development Awards. The facilities at Kingspan Breffni aim to foster inclusion and game enjoyment for those with differing needs.
The awards ceremony took place in Old Trafford on Tuesday night where Cavan GAA took home the major award. Confirming the award, Cavan GAA said that the sensory room constructed in 2023 is a collaboration between Cavan GAA and our main sponsor, Kingspan, along with Sláintecare and supported by over 20 Cavan GAA clubs.
The accessibility space, developed in partnership with Wilton Waste Recycling, was opened in June 2024. The Cavan GAA board said inclusion remains a core value of Cavan GAA as we strive to foster greater awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities when attending games and event.
